the Story of Donna B's

In 1986, Donna Bielke Billman sold her first package of hand rolled cookie dough balls to a friend, never fully realizing the impact that first sale would have on the rest of her life.

As a single mother cramped up in a small Huntington Beach apartment, Donna struggled every month to pay the bills and put food on the table. The hardships were steadily beginning to stack up against her.

Tired of worrying, Donna resolved to take matters into her own hands - literally. With whatever free time she could scrape together, Donna turned her tiny kitchen into a cookie dough producing factory. Her original recipe was a chocolate chip dough that everyone always loved. But the idea that people would BUY her cookie dough was never a reality until that moment.

Word spread quickly and soon, co-workers and friends rallied behind Donna. At the end of every month, they would place their orders for her cookie dough and two days later, Donna would appear with a cooler in her trunk loaded with dough balls.

As the popularity of her cookie dough grew, Donna was encouraged to actually bake the dough and sell fresh cookies. Orders continued to pile in at an alarming rate. That little cookie dough idea had suddenly grown into something that her tiny kitchen could no longer accommodate. It became very evident that a commercial bakery was necessary.

Through perseverance, dedication and the help of others, Donna opened her first bakery in 1993. The company, Donna B's Bakery, has since expanded it's line of products to include 11 varieties of cookies and cookie dough, brownies, and many different styles and varieties of gourmet decorated cakes.

Located in Southern California, Donna B's customer base includes some of the USA's largest companies, and notable celebrities. Dubbed "the Cookie Lady", Donna is very involved in helping raise money for her favorite charitable organizations, which include those whose focus is on helping disadvantaged women, children, and single mothers.

Donna B's is now celebrating 15 years as a bakery with a dozen more years of quality, freshness and care to come!
